Music researcher and educator Catherine Grant has published over 50 journal articles, book chapters and books in the fields of ethnomusicology and music education. She is author of "Music Endangerment: How Language Maintenance Can Help" (Oxford University Press, 2014) and co-editor of the award-winning "Sustainable Futures for Music Cultures" (OUP, 2016). Chair of the Australia-New Zealand Committee of the International Council for Traditional Music from 2016-2019, Catherine has presented her research in Australia, the UK, USA, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Kazakhstan. Her applied work on music sustainability has featured in media including the Boston Globe, The Australian, The Conversation, The Cambodia Daily, and radio stations in Australia and the USA. Catherine was awarded the 2015 Australian Future Justice medal for her research, advocacy and activism on cultural sustainability.
